Brett Favre Retires, Seriously This Time… Seriously.

It’ll be all over the news soon, but you can read an article and watched Favre’s speech from a HuffPost here

I happen to think that Brett Favre, even burdened with concussions and off field scandals, is still better than half the starters in the NFL today. But only he knows best.

Favre was one of the most respected and inspiring figures in sports. Passing records aside (the over 70,000 passing yards, the only QB to throw over 500 touchdowns), I think the most amazing feat he achieved is the number of consecutive starts he had. In this day in age, when NFL players are more hard-hitting than ever, the awe-inspiring number of 297, 321 including playoffs, will never be caught (trailing behind him is Peyton Manning, with 208).

As for his off-field antics, I really think that unless one knows Favre personally, or if one’s intimately involved with the ‘scandal’, we can’t rush judgment about what he did.

All I know is that he is a great football player, one of the greatest of all time.

Happy retirement, Brett.
