It appears that the ban on same sex marriage will be repealed, and gays and lesbians can once again be married in California. The impression I got from the article is that the events unfolding now are sort of formality procedures, perhaps with some last-ditch efforts by conservatives to prevent same sex marriage. But when the outgoing and incoming governors both refused to appeal the San Francisco judge’s ruling to strike down Prop 8, the gay community knows that they’ve won.
I happen to think that Prop 8 is more significant than DADT. Anyone else?
