In light of the victories in Wisconsin, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, Mitt Romney has all but locked in his spot for the Republican nomination for President. The inevitability of it has become obvious.
And President Obama knows it, too.
Speaking at a meeting of editors and reports in Washington, Obama singled out Romney, and mocked Romney’s praise of the Republican budget presented by representative Paul Ryan, a disaster of a plan that could all but bankrupt the country while changing the face of the American health care system.
On the Republican side of things, perhaps Newt Gingrich has missed his opportunity to make an impact one last time on his party by quitting the race and endorsing Rick Santorum. Now, with the nomination all but locked, even Santorum’s polls are collapsing at his home state of Pennsylvania. And of course, we haven’t heard much from Ron Paul because he’s just doing his own thing regardless of what’s happening.
